Terms and Conditions

As my aim is to offer a calm and happy experience for your pooch. There are some things that you can do to help your dog with their experience.  Please kindly read the following:

Safety and comfort

  • Please ensure your dog has been given the opportunity to be relieved and walked prior to the grooming. (unless you have booked the full package walk and groom)  This will ensure they are not stressed or uncomfortable and will get maximum enjoyment from their groom experience.

  • I will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or a level of stress that I think is excessive. In some situations, this can include nail trimming.  The care of the dog is my upmost priority.

Senior dogs

  • For some senior dogs a grooming experience can be stressful for them, and although I will aim to make the experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible.  I will only carry out grooming work that your dog will tolerate, I will endeavour to carry out the groom that has been requested, however if the dog does become unduly stressed I will only groom the dog to ensure cleanliness and comfort.

Dog’s health and well-being

  • As your pooches parent you will be able to advise myself on any medical, physical, emotional issues, allergies, sensitivities or pre-existing conditions and any treatment they are receiving prior to grooming taking place.  Conditions may include, but are not restricted to, prior surgeries, hip or joint issues, warts, moles, ear infections or skin problems.

  • In the event that I discover any conditions or problems these will be notified to you on collection, or in urgent cases we will contact you when they are discovered.  Frantastic Pets cannot be held responsible for any conditions or problems discovered during grooming or associated treatments.

  • As the dogs owner it is your responsibility to ensure your dog is free from flea, ticks and other parasites before entering the salon.  If, however your dog is carrying fleas or other parasite then an appropriate tick or flea prevention should be in use and have been applied.

  • If fleas are found on your dog, you as the owner agree to pay any associated costs, such as extra time bathing, extra time in removing fleas, the cost of using a flea shampoo and extra time for a deep clean of the salon.

Matting

  • An additional sum of £10.00 per 15 minutes will be incurred where clipping of matts is required. This will be applied as an additional fee to the previously quoted price of the groom.

  • I will only attempt to de-matt if your dog is NOT showing signs of stress or anxiety.

  • A matted coat can cause numerous health conditions and discomfort to your dog. For the welfare of the dog I will always clip out a matted coat to allow the dog to feel more comfortable and to reduce the risk of irritation and skin infections.  Removing a heavily matted coat does include risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles and skin folds that have become trapped and hidden in your dog’s mats.  At Frantastic Pets I will not be held responsible for any pre-existing conditions due to a matted coat, however in the event that we notice any unusual condition I will inform you during the groom.

  • If your dog is heavily matted, this will hinder you to have the groom that you are wanting as I will need to clip out the matts to start afresh with undamaged hair.

  • In the event that I am unable to complete a full groom or any treatment that has been pre-booked due to excessive matting or the dog not being available at the allocated appointment time, then Frantastic Pets reserves the right to stop the groom or treatment if started and request that an additional appointment is made for such work to be completed. All additional work will be at the expense of the owner on top of the original groom price.

  • I am more than happy to help in any way if any owner requires it.

Behaviour

  • Additional appropriate charges may apply for extra time required due to the dog’s temperament and/or behaviour during a groom or treatment.

  • As my aim is for the dog to enjoy their experience in the salon, I fully understand some dogs have more anxiety than others and I will endeavor to work with them to increase their confidence.  Shorter sessions can be provided as an introduction series to allow the dog to gradually build their confidence and enjoyment before doing a full groom.

  • If your dog begins to show signs of aggression and/or biting but I feel the groom can continue, then an appropriate muzzle may be used during any groom or treatment with rewards for good behaviour.  If I feel the aggression is severe I reserve the right to cease the groom immediately and you as the owner will be responsible for payment of the work carried out.

  • If your dog has extra anxiety or behaviour problems, please let me know.  Please also inform me if your dog has ever bitten another human or dog or has shown any signs of aggression in the past.

  • You, as the owner agree to be held solely liable for any harm, injury or damage caused by the dog and any costs thereafter incurred.

Cancellation and late appointments

  • Frantastic Pets requires a minimum of 24 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment to allow me to fill that time slot.

  • Failure to give at least 24 hours in advance may result in a charge equivalent to the price of the full groom and must be paid prior to your next grooming appointment.

  • If you refuse to show for your appointment this may result in a charge equivalent to the price of the full groom and must be paid prior to your next grooming appointment.

  • Each groom will have a specific time slot, lateness will mean the next groom will start late and finish late.  There will be a 15 minute window, if you arrive past the 15 minutes an extra charge will be added to the previously quoted price.

  • I reserve the right to refuse a groom if dog arrives more than 30 minutes late.
